Carsten R. Hamann, MD, PhD

Carsten R. Hamann is a board-certified dermatologist at Saguaro Dermatology and the Contact Dermatitis Institute. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Dartmouth Geisel School of Medicine.

He completed his undergraduate degree at Calvin College and went on to obtain his medical degree at Loma Linda University. After graduation, he attended the University of Copenhagen in Denmark, where he received his Doctor of Philosophy in Public Health and Epidemiology with a focus on risk factors and comorbidities of eczema. Post graduation, Dr. Hamann returned to the states to complete his Dermatology residency at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center where he was the Chief Resident from 2020 – 2021 and the Assistant Chief Resident of Research from 2018-2020. Dr. Carsten R. Hamann is a co-author of 3 textbook chapters on rubber allergy and metal allergy, and he has authored more than 57 peer-reviewed publications.

Dathan Hamann

Dathan Hamann, MD is a board-certified dermatologist and the medical director of Saguaro Dermatology and Contact Dermatitis Institute. He is also the Associate Program Director and a Core Faculty member at the HonorHealth Dermatology Residency in Phoenix, AZ. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix. He also serves on the board of the Phoenix Dermatology Society and is on the Education committee of the American Contact Dermatitis Society.

After obtaining his undergraduate degree at Calvin College and his medical degree at the University of Arizona, he did his dermatology residency at The Ohio State University where he also served as the Chief Resident of Research. He is the co-author of textbook chapters on rubber allergy and metal allergy and he has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications. His primary clinical interests include complex medical dermatology and contact dermatitis.
